The mission of the City of Meriden Economic Development Department is to drive sustainable economic growth, strengthen the City of Meriden's tax base, and enhance community prosperity. By partnering with current and prospective employers, the Economic Development Department works to attract investment, support business expansion, and create quality job opportunities for residents. Through the City's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), we aim to build a thriving, inclusive economy that benefits all who live, work and do business in Meriden.

Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA)
The Connecticut NAA Tax Credit Program is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax exempt organizations through business tax credit incentives. Community Development
The functions of this division include the administration of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which provides funds to various city departments and local non-profit agencies to operate programs benefiting low and moderate income persons. In addition, the Community Development office applies for and manages numerous other State and Federal grant applications and activities. Click here for more details.
